The title says it all. This morning I said goodbye to home and all things familiar. I spent the day hoping airports and eating little bags of pretzels. And so I crossed the country, staring out the window at the ground below, contemplating the gravity of the adventure I had begun, and starting to let go of some of the stress accumulated from waiting. Eventually, I arrived in rainy Philadelphia with all my luggage in tact, as well as a bunch of absolutely necessary chocolate from the San Jose airport in hand. I bonded with some other PC trainees while sharing a taxi and eating Chipotle.
Anyway, three time zones down and another six to go. Tomorrow we play icebreaker games and find out many useful and probably overwhelming things about the months to come. Then off we go again! The adventure has officially begun!
